Shop-link methodology
How Homecode chooses products and explains shop links?
Homecode does not take payment or complete orders. No shop link is published today.
Evidence sources
Unfair commercial practices (CMA207)
Competition and Markets Authority
Supports: DMCC Act context: commercial intent must be identified specifically; unclear, untimely or hard-to-see information can be omitted; consumer decisions can occur before any in-principle decision to purchase.
Checked .
CAP Code Section 2 — Recognition of marketing communications
Committee of Advertising Practice
Supports: Marketing must be obviously identifiable and its commercial intent clear.
Checked .
Online Affiliate Marketing
Committee of Advertising Practice
Supports: Affiliate describes performance-based marketing; relevant links must be identifiable before engagement and a generic may-earn disclaimer can be ambiguous.
Checked .
#Ad(vice) — Making clear that an ad is an ad
Committee of Advertising Practice
Supports: Ad is a clear upfront label; affiliate, sponsored and similar jargon can be ambiguous as the sole label.

What is published today
No product and destination shop have passed the current checks, so these pages do not show a shop link or a purchase path.
Homecode does not take payment, take orders or run a checkout. Payment and checkout are not part of this launch.
The relationship comes first
The published policy is first-party only: a shop link is allowed only when dated evidence shows common ownership, and a commission is stated only when that arrangement is also documented.
No such link is published today. Homecode does not infer ownership or commission from a shop name, domain or tracking parameter.
How a link becomes eligible
A link is enabled only after the product, destination shop, ownership evidence, origin and fulfilment claims, order route, GB delivery information and safety context have passed the applicable H9 checks.
A failed, stale or uncertain check removes the link. Homecode leaves the placement empty rather than insert an unchecked third-party offer.
Check the live offer at the shop
Homecode does not take payment, take orders or run a checkout.
If a verified external shop link is published later, prices and sale terms will be those of that shop — not an offer Homecode can complete.
A purchase does not change the guidance
Buying, not buying, clicking or generating a sale does not change Homecode's editorial conclusions, evidence thresholds, safety level, stop advice or recommendation to use a qualified professional.
Owning a product does not make a restricted task suitable for DIY. Commercial benefit never overrides the H3/H9 safety gate, and alarm exceptions remain safety enhancements rather than substitutes for emergency or professional action.
What inclusion means
Inclusion means the product and shop passed the stated checks at the recorded review time. It is not a claim that the product is best, cheapest, suitable for every home or compared with the whole market.
Common ownership limits the pool of shops that can be linked. Product copy must not describe this selection as independent or unbiased.
Disclosure stays beside every shop link
The relationship disclosure is visible before every outbound shop control in the same card, row or paragraph. The page summary and this methodology page are supplementary.
The disclosure is not hidden in a tooltip, accordion, footer, cookie banner, accessible name or screen-reader-only text. It remains unclipped in normal reading order at mobile widths, zoom and reflow.
Review and removal
Ownership and commission evidence is dated. A link is withdrawn when that evidence expires or conflicts, the destination becomes misleading, current orderability or availability cannot be checked, or the product no longer meets the relevance and safety rules.
The review date below covers this disclosure method. It is not a statement that a shop's current price or availability was checked on that date.
